FaMEALy

I never had to cook before I get married. I was like a lazy cat who doesn’t even want to get up in bed. Until one morning, I suddenly get anxious. “Oh my!” what are we going to eat for breakfast!? I don’t even know how to fry eggs!” I’m ashamed to admit but that was true. Still, I thank God my husband can cook. Haha. My husband helps me cook sometimes with a little smile, hug here and there and a little bit of rapping! Lucky me!

I had no choice but to start learning and adapt to my new life. Cooking is just one of what housewife does while hubby is at work and it’s undeniably important! So I might as well learn to cook. Sometimes, I call my Mom and Tita to ask for some simple and healthy dish. I actually do the cooking while they are giving me instructions over the phone. Eventually, I started experimenting on different dishes by myself. Thank goodness I wasn’t failing miserably! My hubby is an honest and nice taste tester of my experiments. haha.. Now, I’m not anymore terrified to cook. Yey!

Kids are normally picky eaters; that's why every mealtime can turn into a major battle. “C’mon, one more spoon full baby” is that no longer effective? Then you have to be more creative to encourage them to eat healthier. Shaping your carrots into flowers would be nice! You can also give them variety of perfectly arranged finger foods like my heart-shaped veggies. I know it’s not easy to maneuver our toddlers to eat normal food that’s why we really need to figure out how every food will look fantastic and more appetizing to them.
My kids all time favorite! Taran!

Ingredients:
1kg. Spaghetti noodles
½ kg. Ground beef or Bacon
¼ kg. Hotdogs
1 kg. Sweet style tomato sauce
¼ kg. Banana Catsup
2 onions, chopped
1 head garlic, minced
3 tablespoons of cooking oil
Salt and pepper to taste
½ cup grated cheese
1 cup of Nestle Crème
½ Dairy Crème
1 small evaporated milk

Here are the steps to make your pasta
Fill the pot up with water. Add 3tbs. of salt and a little bit of oil. When the water is steaming, add your pasta and let it boil for 15-25minutes. Try to take a bite; if you see white in the center, it needs a little longer to cook. Drain your pasta into a strainer and rinse them with water to eliminate the starchiness.

Here’s how to make your homemade Spaghetti sauce
Put at least 2 tbs. of oil and butter in a pan until it melts; Sauté garlic and onions. Add ground beef or cut Bacon until it’s browned. Then add hotdogs. Drain the excess grease. Pour in the Sweet Style Spaghetti Sauce, Ketchup, and Nestle Crème and let it simmer for at least 15 to 25 minutes. Stir the sauce every 5-10minutes to keep it from sticking. You can also include carrots, red bell pepper, etc. if you want (optional). Season with salt and pepper, add some Dairy Crème and sprinkle with cheese. Presto!

Make sure you'll have at least one mealtime each day with your family. Coz, families who eat together, stay together!

Happy eating!
